We start from Medicare's own hospital data, so small critical access hospitals sit alongside large academic medical centers, each with the same quality measures where CMS publishes them.
Our principles
- Facts over filler. Every number on the site is calculated from the data. We don't call a hospital the best, largest or oldest unless a figure backs it.
- Say what we don't know. Unknown services show as “Not reported”, never as a guess.
- Not medical advice. We publish information, not recommendations. In an emergency, call 911.
- Correctable. Every listing can be corrected by the people who know it best.
